Cloud Computing Pathway: Complete E-learning Bundle

I have read at least 15 titles on this topic with a different level of coverage: some of them are very technical, some of them are jargonized brochures and only a few of them are really worth buying. I was looking for a detailed view of this emerging technology approach.

When I first time came across the "Cloud Computing Foundation Complete Certification Kit" book, I was really impressed by the content and presentation of the topic. This book not only covers customer perspectives of cloud computing, but also deals with the service provider equation. Once I completed the foundation program, I immediately bought all of the remaining cloud computing books, along with the online courses. Over a period of 2 months, I completed all of the 5 programs: Cloud Computing Foundation, Virtualization, SAAS, PAAS and Managing Services in the Cloud. I successfully passed all of the exams and finally achieved the "Expert" level title.

I recommend The Art of Service programs to all who are dealing with IT strategy, infrastructure, cloud providers and those involved in IT architecture design. The Art of Service has genuinely established their credibility in this space, bringing together knowledge and experiences from vendors, analysts, and end users.

Apart from the main books, 100+ pages each, I was very impressed by the online presentations as well. If you choose to not complete the online materials, you will genuinely miss some of the important aspects of the programs. The programs successfully address some very crucial areas such as KPIs, Cloud Computing Business Cases, Creating Service Values, Financial Management aspects, ITSM aspects,
CMDB, Security, Quality of Service Criteria, and Availability Management.

Overall, I would give The Art of Service Programs a five star and would highly recommend to all cloud computing aspirants.

I've been reading a lot about Cloud Computing in the last days, and this book is one of the best titles about this, that I've found so far.
It's a book that not only focus on the principles of Cloud Computing in an easy way to understand, but explains in detail how to apply the principles of IT Service Management (based on ITIL v3 processes) to Cloud Computing, both point of views: Customers and Service Providers of Cloud services.

It's definitely a book I recommend for any IT professional who wants to venture into the world of Cloud Computing. (Posted on 9/26/10)
